you became a legend of the silver screen
saw some clip from atonement. looked ok, i guess. in some ways i really don't want to see it, just because i think it'll spoil the book for me. even though that first trailer already did. and i'm not sure about james mcavoys accent. even though he's pretty much the only reason i actually want to see it apart from romola garai who is the most beautiful woman alive. i'm mainly worried about keira knightley. and how they tackle the moral dilemma because it's pretty awkward just to read and i imagine wayching it will be worse. oh well. i guess i'll know in december.

a female is better than a male male
for such a vocal "feminist" it seems odd that gen's only goal in life is to marry a rich man.
in other news, jot and i watched phoenix yesterday after school and decided that we had to marry them all. they were doing the cutest little dance in partners to their "secret song". james and crack were desperately trying to out do each others tenorness, aidan (the bastard) and simon were desperately trying to our do each others hip-movements and mike was just trying to scare his partner by seedily checking him out. and then they did one of those old beautiful pieces that miss c picks so well and i remembered how much a prefer male voices to female. it was incredible. i actually think it would have been better without the piano part but crackie (♥) did play it exquisitely. i love crackie. :D

heart it races

last couple of days have been heaps of fun. yesterday i vowed not to be so openly in love with crackie. even though his hair was really cute . . . but then at lunch the "jesus folk" were enjoying exo day so aleena and i ended up following him (from a distance) to the music rooms where we watched him through a window. then mike came along from watching jot's band and helped up but he was too loud and they found us. then he pretended to be a fountain and we pretended to be trees until crack went away again. i guess i was still abit high from acing that music lit test and then winning an argument with him about whether or not the erlking was a song-cycle. and then lot, jot and i spent italian eating chocolate without being caught. and angels was fun. and listening to the people auditioning for solos was hysterical. shauna and amina were the only good ones. and then i ended up watching the new friday night crime thing called proof which reminded me of taggart because i didn't have a clue what they were saying except it was irish, not scottish. but i'm a bit disappointed about the ending of silent witness. i wanted more emotion from harry, damn it! oh shmeh. he's still hot...

and this morning em and i watched more of the day after tomorrow, the plot of which was completely lost on me the second jake gyllenhaal entered.
mum: this movie's pretty bad.
me: i know.
mum: so why are you watching it? oh look, jake gyllenhaal!
me: . . . that would be why . . .
then tammy came round and gave me my much belated birthday gifts including the coolest necklace ever.

then we watched a crazy jrock song from a video game and sang along to the kareoke version.

and now i just kind of miss crackie. it was funny, actually. we were arguing about the erlking and i said that any kind of relationship between us would have to be purely sexual because we never agree and he said he thought it could be more than that which pretty much proved my point. but the most annoying thing is that he and steph would be going out right now if it hadn't been for fucking aidan. i hate that bastard.

it's better in the matinee
BEST DAY OF MY LIFE.
it's the abc's 75th birthday so mum took em, hannah and i to the special party. it was beyond awesome. they had the kids bit first and we got to see captain feathersword and bananas in pyjamas! then we went into the abc building and got stickers and stuff. then we found a line. the line. the line to see elliot spencer, presenter of rollercoaster!!! so we waited with all the under eights and their bored parents watching the teddies (who were on stage) on the big tv. then elliots was on there and he cut the cake. the tension in our little crowd was palable. our feet burned, our legs ached but still we waited. and then, as if out of no-where there he was. in his tight red jeans and bright yellow jacket. with high-lights in his spiky hair. and after signing seventy gazillion things for the pint-sized populous (he wrote something personal about each of them!) he turned to us and said "i'll do you three now". so he signed our stuff and chatted as we gaped speechlessly. it was incredible. it was better than the day harry potter seven came out.
the rest of the day was punctuated with loud and rambunctious "we met elliot!!!"s. so we had lunch at jaws then visited daddy in hospital, he's coming along nicely though bored out of his mind. the girls and i left early and tried to find our way to borders, taking a short detour to dirt cheap cds. i got franz ferdinands first album and inside in inside out by the kooks for twenty fucking bucks. then to borders where i spent most of my book vouchers on the unbearable lightness of being by milan kundera (mainly because there was a quote by ian mcewan on the front cover) and the rose of sebastopol by katherine mcmahon (yay! crimean love story). then on the car ride home i discovered why the cds were dirt cheap. apart from the lyrics, all the text on franz ferdinand was in spanish and the kooks, japanese. still wonderful though. but i'm a tad sad that there was no bloc party. i'll have a better look next weekend. but bugger, school tomorrow. at least i can crackie watch.

every park bench screams your name

today emmy's little friend hannah came over so that the three of us could jam. then i caught them on my computer and refused to speak to either of them 'til lunch time when we got chips which obviously solve everything. we were eating them by the lake which actually had water in it and even turtles. very sexually active turtles. then we came home again and "jammed" to spicks and specks by the bee gees which basically means em played her bass about a bar behind hannah on the piano as i read the lyrics off the internet at a stupid pitch that was basically too high. then we switched to for no one, one of the best beatled songs ever which is in a paul mccartney key so i had to keep changing octaves. then we decided to see harry potter 5 again but this time i made notes! i noticed a great many things but since it was dark i kept writing over the same bits. so i can barely read it. but rupert grint if damn hot. and so is dean. but anyway. oooh, and we saw a poster for daniel radcliffe's new movie december boys. i really want to know what his australian accents like. i expect it'll come out in december. atonements coming out them too and as much as i want to see james mcavoy wandering around, being hot i just know keira knightly will ruin it. the trailer almost ruined the book for me. grr...

something glorious is about to happen
yesterday i had a rather exciting adventure with my two favourite squishies. for full details, see liza's blog. it's more accurate than you'd think.
this arvo we had a concert thing with plenty of christchurch boys. but only the first cellist, first violinist and oboe soloist were hot. why is miss c so cruel as to put crackie next to josh in phoenix?
<3 <3 <3 grey's! :-)
so hot for george right now.

love goes cold in the shades of doubt
it's late and i'm tired and incoherent. we had a massed choral rehearsal with some bogans from other school who were no where near as good as us. managed to get out of handing in history essay (like its hard) and am currently despairing the fact that i am perpetually out of the fucking loop. people always tell me their good news but i only find out the bad when i say something inadvertantly tactless and make them cry. i wish i actually had a best friend. apart from steph, that is...
however i have got a gay friend. after months of begging crackie to turn gay, olivia took pity on me and offered herself for the position. goodness knows her boyfriend'll say. but speaking of gay:

keith allen, the sheriff of nottingham - or as he doesn't like to be known, lily allen's dad - made a documentary about a scary christian group who don't really say much apart from 'god hates fags'. such horrible people but it's quite entertaining.
