and we're climbing a stairway to kevin...
the kevin07 team mentioned something about becoming a republic (pre-election campaign, obviously, they couldn't fit anything about working families in there) and i'm wondering about the changes it will involve. who will go on the head side of our coins or on the five dollar? will we have a new national anthem? will they get a new flag or just take out the union jack? amd most importantly, who will decide these things? i for one am in favour of switching to the aboriginal flag. and teaching the local aboriginal language at school instead of french or italian which is totally impractical. obviously if you live in england you can just pop over to france for the weekend but the average australian won't go much further than bali. though the average australian doesn't want to have anything to do with the aboriginals anyway. god, i can not wait to get out of this hell hole.

and the cotton is high
i'm excited. one exam left! and i'm excited about summer. and i'm even more excited about being excited about summer. because normally i hate it and don't leave the house for weeks at a time but this year i'm rather excited about the freedom which it affords because this year, unlike all previous, they have been making us work (why? what could it possibly achieve?) and there is actually something to be free of. plus this year i have some one who i want to socialise with. maybe she's young but since we have exactly the same tastes in everything and know exactly the same amounts of pop culture and finish each others sentences and are sisters there's no way our friendship won't work.

we already have plans for the summer. we've started a band (eg got a band name). and we're going to find summer boys. like bernards summer girl. "and in the autumn i'll ditch her 'cause she's my summer girl". and and and exciting adelaide adventure before christmas! super yay! we're going to get very well aquainted with it and swim on a beach and go up to the hills and into the barossa and coffee from zuma's and chocolate from haigh's and cheese from the markets and mermaids from the maritime museum and everything from glenelg! but minimal christmas presents. :( and old relatives. but adelaide!!!

the lists went up today and it's no cantori for rose. i spent an hour this morning in hysterics at the thought of not being in it and if lot and jot hadn't been there i might have indulged again. the worst part is that it was only the first cut. those lists were of girls who were being reauditioned for voice blending purposes. year nines were on that list and i wasn't. even liz, who sung the worst solo song humanly possible was on there. i was so happy with every aspect of that audition apart from a tiny handsign fuck up in the stupid mendelsohn and running our of breath slightly in the first one. and miss c asking me if i was scared. maybe she didn't want someone who was scared. the other worst part is that i have been trained as a singer for four years only to have piffling instrumentalists beat me. not to mention spending an entire year expecting to get in. and having to face crackies smug condescending "sympathy". mind you, he probably won't acknowledge it in the slightest. well, i'm going to do some practise. i'll show you all.

so recently i've developed a bit of a thing for one of the tripod boys. gatesy, to be exact or as my sister and i like to call him, "the middle one". i'm not sure if i actually find him attractive or if it's just because he stands between a poppy-eyed midget and the biggest geek since buddy holly. either way there aren't nearly enough pictures of him on the net.
and i'll tell you who else is hot. kele okereke.

don't you agree? em and i were drooling over the picture of him inside the cover of a weekend in the city. google him. seriously.

so. show today. had to take country bumpkin cousins. it was alright, though. we proved what utter wusses we were by going on the ferris wheel and actually being scared then we moved on to that thing that's a cross between a merry-go-round and a swing. we went on that one three times, just for the fun of seeing all the smoke coming off the powersurge next to us and some chick chucking up. bought too many show bags and ate too much crap but it was more fun than normal. and i got the coolest necklace in the world. it's a pendant with a tiny grain of rice inside that says rose. and because i love her, i got one for steph too. she refrained from going this year, even though she loves it because she's saving up for tour. she was crying at school the other day just thinking about it. i ♥ steph.

lots of pics there. including pinto giving up on dignity completely, pinto cleaning his knuckles, pizza with a pineapple lightening bolt scar (look close, it's there), a lost thong, my sister showing off her impressive hiding skills and a sleeping quokka. dead serious, that's how they sleep.
but today was wonderful. actually it was on the worse side of average apart from its one very redeeming feature. i watched a disturbing film about the kkk, got yelled at for not studying for oral, showed off my fear of rollerblading to the hot pe prac teacher, forgot to bring in something organic to draw in art and got told off by miss tan for trying to reconstruct a torn up borders receipt. but even if i had been raped it wouldn't have spoilt my day because between pe and art was lunch and the lunch time concert by senior orchestra.
they started with rodeo which seemed to kind of lack dynamics, it was too soft. and they ended with pirates and the trombones got way behind. BUT.
the greig. it was actually orgasmic. and that was pretty much completely down to aidan. the orchestra was kind of just distracting but just the way he sat there concentrating and knew it by heart and clenched his fists on his knees in the rests and smiled when he got a standing ovation, like our approval was what mattered most was so incredible i was actually reduced to tears at the end. so i've decided he's my soulmate.

you don't wanna see my ghost
crackie was in shorts today but it just made him look stubby. trousers make him more sophisticated. and i don't really like his hair cut. but i realised that he has an almost identical nose to james mcavoy (!!!) which really explains why i'm so attracted to him.

then after school jot, mike and i went off to buy matt's birthday present and realising that the next train was in 12 minutes and we can walk to subi in 10 we tagged off again and went on foot. along the way we found a very lost bunnings trolley in which we deposited our bags and took turns pushing. then we parked the trolley and entered woolworths, debated about which barbie matt would like best (the ballerina one) and lamented the fact that they didn't stock any of the lollies that jot wanted to take to health camp.
so after promising to push the trolley all the way jot convinces us to go all the way to farmer jacks, but some how i end up with the trolley but i'm so weak that jot and mike had to steer/pull on either side all the way up rokeby road, steepest hill in christendom. then we bumped into mr rogers and jot attmpted to hide the trolley which basically involved sitting on it and saying "we don't have a trolley". then we managed to get to farmers jacks and parked the trolley again and decided that since we'd got so attatched to it we should name it; thus it was dubbed crackie and we all made a humble pledge to return it to its home.

so we got jot's lollies and negotiated our way to baskin and robbins where jot's brother works. we recieved a free ice-cream (that we demolished in record time) and after realising that we didn't know where a bunnings was we continued towards jots place until we came upon a broken down, ramshackled old house that was just desperate for an owner and even though it meant we had to physically carry our bags we sacrificed spinal comfort for crackies happiness. we pushed him under the clothes line and took the coat hanger that we'd found in him and hung it up beside him. it was a wrench but it felt right.

after a tender farewell kiss we continued to jots and then to the train station and thence, home. ♥

i think i've worked out how to make crackie fall in love with me. i just have to be really good at something! but the only thing i can think of that he likes and is fairly easy is lesbian sex and i need some one else for that too. and what if he fell in love with her?

saw some clip from atonement. looked ok, i guess. in some ways i really don't want to see it, just because i think it'll spoil the book for me. even though that first trailer already did. and i'm not sure about james mcavoys accent. even though he's pretty much the only reason i actually want to see it apart from romola garai who is the most beautiful woman alive. i'm mainly worried about keira knightley. and how they tackle the moral dilemma because it's pretty awkward just to read and i imagine wayching it will be worse. oh well. i guess i'll know in december.

a female is better than a male male
for such a vocal "feminist" it seems odd that gen's only goal in life is to marry a rich man.
in other news, jot and i watched phoenix yesterday after school and decided that we had to marry them all. they were doing the cutest little dance in partners to their "secret song". james and crack were desperately trying to out do each others tenorness, aidan (the bastard) and simon were desperately trying to our do each others hip-movements and mike was just trying to scare his partner by seedily checking him out. and then they did one of those old beautiful pieces that miss c picks so well and i remembered how much a prefer male voices to female. it was incredible. i actually think it would have been better without the piano part but crackie (♥) did play it exquisitely. i love crackie. :D

heart it races

last couple of days have been heaps of fun. yesterday i vowed not to be so openly in love with crackie. even though his hair was really cute . . . but then at lunch the "jesus folk" were enjoying exo day so aleena and i ended up following him (from a distance) to the music rooms where we watched him through a window. then mike came along from watching jot's band and helped up but he was too loud and they found us. then he pretended to be a fountain and we pretended to be trees until crack went away again. i guess i was still abit high from acing that music lit test and then winning an argument with him about whether or not the erlking was a song-cycle. and then lot, jot and i spent italian eating chocolate without being caught. and angels was fun. and listening to the people auditioning for solos was hysterical. shauna and amina were the only good ones. and then i ended up watching the new friday night crime thing called proof which reminded me of taggart because i didn't have a clue what they were saying except it was irish, not scottish. but i'm a bit disappointed about the ending of silent witness. i wanted more emotion from harry, damn it! oh shmeh. he's still hot...

and this morning em and i watched more of the day after tomorrow, the plot of which was completely lost on me the second jake gyllenhaal entered.
mum: this movie's pretty bad.
me: i know.
mum: so why are you watching it? oh look, jake gyllenhaal!
me: . . . that would be why . . .
then tammy came round and gave me my much belated birthday gifts including the coolest necklace ever.

then we watched a crazy jrock song from a video game and sang along to the kareoke version.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DeALqyjSz1Q
and now i just kind of miss crackie. it was funny, actually. we were arguing about the erlking and i said that any kind of relationship between us would have to be purely sexual because we never agree and he said he thought it could be more than that which pretty much proved my point. but the most annoying thing is that he and steph would be going out right now if it hadn't been for fucking aidan. i hate that bastard.

it's better in the matinee
BEST DAY OF MY LIFE.
it's the abc's 75th birthday so mum took em, hannah and i to the special party. it was beyond awesome. they had the kids bit first and we got to see captain feathersword and bananas in pyjamas! then we went into the abc building and got stickers and stuff. then we found a line. the line. the line to see elliot spencer, presenter of rollercoaster!!! so we waited with all the under eights and their bored parents watching the teddies (who were on stage) on the big tv. then elliots was on there and he cut the cake. the tension in our little crowd was palable. our feet burned, our legs ached but still we waited. and then, as if out of no-where there he was. in his tight red jeans and bright yellow jacket. with high-lights in his spiky hair. and after signing seventy gazillion things for the pint-sized populous (he wrote something personal about each of them!) he turned to us and said "i'll do you three now". so he signed our stuff and chatted as we gaped speechlessly. it was incredible. it was better than the day harry potter seven came out.
the rest of the day was punctuated with loud and rambunctious "we met elliot!!!"s. so we had lunch at jaws then visited daddy in hospital, he's coming along nicely though bored out of his mind. the girls and i left early and tried to find our way to borders, taking a short detour to dirt cheap cds. i got franz ferdinands first album and inside in inside out by the kooks for twenty fucking bucks. then to borders where i spent most of my book vouchers on the unbearable lightness of being by milan kundera (mainly because there was a quote by ian mcewan on the front cover) and the rose of sebastopol by katherine mcmahon (yay! crimean love story). then on the car ride home i discovered why the cds were dirt cheap. apart from the lyrics, all the text on franz ferdinand was in spanish and the kooks, japanese. still wonderful though. but i'm a tad sad that there was no bloc party. i'll have a better look next weekend. but bugger, school tomorrow. at least i can crackie watch.

every park bench screams your name

today emmy's little friend hannah came over so that the three of us could jam. then i caught them on my computer and refused to speak to either of them 'til lunch time when we got chips which obviously solve everything. we were eating them by the lake which actually had water in it and even turtles. very sexually active turtles. then we came home again and "jammed" to spicks and specks by the bee gees which basically means em played her bass about a bar behind hannah on the piano as i read the lyrics off the internet at a stupid pitch that was basically too high. then we switched to for no one, one of the best beatled songs ever which is in a paul mccartney key so i had to keep changing octaves. then we decided to see harry potter 5 again but this time i made notes! i noticed a great many things but since it was dark i kept writing over the same bits. so i can barely read it. but rupert grint if damn hot. and so is dean. but anyway. oooh, and we saw a poster for daniel radcliffe's new movie december boys. i really want to know what his australian accents like. i expect it'll come out in december. atonements coming out them too and as much as i want to see james mcavoy wandering around, being hot i just know keira knightly will ruin it. the trailer almost ruined the book for me. grr...

this arvo we had a concert thing with plenty of christchurch boys. but only the first cellist, first violinist and oboe soloist were hot. why is miss c so cruel as to put crackie next to josh in phoenix?
<3 <3 <3 grey's! :-)
so hot for george right now.

love goes cold in the shades of doubt
it's late and i'm tired and incoherent. we had a massed choral rehearsal with some bogans from other school who were no where near as good as us. managed to get out of handing in history essay (like its hard) and am currently despairing the fact that i am perpetually out of the fucking loop. people always tell me their good news but i only find out the bad when i say something inadvertantly tactless and make them cry. i wish i actually had a best friend. apart from steph, that is...
however i have got a gay friend. after months of begging crackie to turn gay, olivia took pity on me and offered herself for the position. goodness knows her boyfriend'll say. but speaking of gay:
http://www.tv-links.co.uk/listings/9/4674
keith allen, the sheriff of nottingham - or as he doesn't like to be known, lily allen's dad - made a documentary about a scary christian group who don't really say much apart from 'god hates fags'. such horrible people but it's quite entertaining.

my 16th birthday in two weeks and having recently switched into a larger social group at school there are more people that must be invited to the party. my original list had 54 people on to. mum had a small fit so i knocked off the people that i liked least. or despised, in gen's case. so then i was down to 44, pretty good, i thought. but mum has her own ideas. "12," she says. XBUIQBXBJKAN,NCLSIGJ249HLKENV. how could that be possible? i can't just not invite people! in our group you must invite everyone, otherwise it's just not the same. plus this is probably going to be the last party my parents'll throw for me because i won't bother having one next year. then mum said, "what about your 18th or 21st?" when i turn 18 i'm just going to club-hop all night. and there is no way i'll still be living at home when i'm 21. grrr...
